Upper Arm Cuff
Fully embellished Upper Arm Cuff with floral piercing on the front-facing band to resemble a Japanese Obi Brooch, which I drew much of my inspiration from. Visiting the Japanese Brooch in person at UMMA, I realized I wanted to utilize a similar color scheme in my piece. I also appreciated the iris in the center as well as the utilization of the back of the brooch (which is sometimes disregarded). The band is also powder coated black with the hint of brass at the hinges for a surprise of color. The suspended pendant is enameled on the outer edge and the center brass piece is chase and repousse'd with texture to make it pop.
This wearable has forced me to reconsider process multiple times. For example, realizing you can not enamel brass (my center pendant), I had to reinvent my idea more then once. Always simplifying to focus on craft with the time constraint of school.

Embellished with powder coated and enameled charms.
Center brass pendant formed through the process of chasing and repoussing, then suspended in the outer ring which is enameled.
Powder coated black band and pierced with a delicate floral design.
Hinge pin and chain fabricated both from brass.
